Aunt Emily

Emily Bowyer Hammel was my father's older sister. She was the dearest person I've ever known. Over several adolescent summers, she patiently taught me how to sew and how to cook. I loved her. Sadly, she has been gone these few years and I miss her very much. However, I am carrying on her legacy of sewing and trying to carry on her legacy of caring.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Its my birthday today!

I am . . . well the same age as the year I was born. And it isn't 25.

This is the cute cake from dinner with my dh, my BFF and her friend. We went to the Golden Lamb in Lebanon, Ohio, one of the state's oldest restaurants and inns.

I got lots of cards from friends, and a sewing case from P, and a peacock pin from Pen. My brother even remembered to call this afternoon! No giftees from hubby as we have two potential spending events coming up: IKEA opens locally next week, and I will be on a trip to Vancouver in three!
